On a recent project i was assigned, a conference promotional video, i took my first real crack at telling a short story through the use of different imagery. The conference is about health in pastoral ministry and the impact it can have on pastors and their families. We set up different scenes to try and display the juxtaposition of pastors who are having mental/emotional health issues, yet have to maintain a strong/friendly disposition when they are serving. We tried to set up scenes on both sides of the coin: Pastors in darker environments, Pastors shaking hands and putting on a smile. The initial edit had a lot of split screen with both types of shots in it. At the end of the day, it was not what the client needed in this particular case, and all of the photography was cut in favor of Stats about the issue. However, i learned a ton and had a blast setting up these different scenes and color grading the images to be very dark and gritty. Darrin Dick and Daniel Crowe helped out on one of the shoots, and really participated in the vision for this initial concept. Here is few stills from what was a very fun project!

The images look amazing would love the opportunity to see the finals.
Thanks for teaching,

Since the client cut everything the edit was never completed, but if i find time i render out some of the sequences
I hope to see a grading tutorial in the future :)
